This case study outlines GLRE’s successful delivery of a glazing upgrade project for Center Parcs, a leading UK holiday park operator.
Center Parcs is a renowned European holiday village group, established in the Netherlands in 1968. With five distinctive villages across the UK, Center Parcs offers a wide range of leisure activities, making it a popular destination for families, couples, and friends seeking a woodland escape.
GLRE was tasked with a comprehensive refurbishment of a deteriorated glazed atrium at a prominent UK holiday park. The existing structure suffered from severe water ingress issues stemming from a combination of factors, including degraded weather seals, compromised fixings, and a fundamentally flawed design at the critical junction of vertical and horizontal glazing components.
To rectify these issues, GLRE engineered a tailored solution. Our team conducted a thorough site assessment to accurately diagnose the root causes of the problem, informing the development of a bespoke repair strategy. The project involved the careful removal and replacement of compromised components with high-performance alternatives, executed by skilled IRATA-certified technicians. To ensure the long-term performance of the refurbished atrium, GLRE provided a five-year warranty, offering the client peace of mind and protection against future water ingress. The project's successful completion restored the atrium to its original purpose, providing a welcoming and watertight space for holiday park guests.
